Trip West Games began as a collaboration between two lifelong friends, Mike Bott and Steve DeBaun. Avid board and video gamers their entire lives, they decided to take their ideas for games and start putting them into production.
They put together a team of volunteers and professionals and in 2009 they released a Half-Life 2 mod, Smashball, which is Free to Play on Steam. Smashball is a fast-paced first-person shooter where teams use powerful weaponry and grappling hooks to score on the opposing team's goal. Imagine a well-armed Spider-Man playing rugby.
Beginning in 2012, Steve started working on his idea for a wargame that simplified other wargames, one that is as immersive as any wargame but doesn't take all day to play. Mike and Steve formed Trip West Games and released our first board game: Ars Victor. Ars Victor was successfully funded through Kickstarter.
We wouldn't have made it to where we are without the help and support of our friends, family members, and associates. Trip West Games owes a debt of gratitude to Byron Sturtevant, Glennda Fielder, Aly Warner, Tanner Neville, Casey Cordes, Adam Bain, Christina Major, and Will Hendershott.
Today we are still an independent designer, developer, and publisher of tabletop games. We are also branching out into mobile games, and are currently working on mobile versions of our first 2 titles. We have published one successful title so far and we've got many more in development for the next few years. We also publish other designer's ideas for games and are currently developing. Trip West Games works with artists from all over the country too. If you've got one you think we'd be interested in, please drop us a line, we'd love to hear from you!
In 2017, Mike and Steve officially added their newest member, Alyson Lowe, to the team. She has been charged with running the day-to-day operations of Trip West Games. As the team grows, we hope to bring more of our games to market this year and beyond. What started out as a part-time dream between two friends is becoming a game- producing reality. We couldn't have done it without the support of fans like you! Thank you!
